Radiation

Radiation occurs when a Nuclear Power Plant has a meltdown or when a Meteor Strike occurs.

A Nuclear Power Plant can have meltdowns due to it being staffed by uneducated workers and therefore making it "unsafe" which can be viewed in each Power Plant's individual information box, or due to an attack on the power plant by a disaster such as Godzilla.

Radiation has different levels, the most intense being where the Power Plant originally sat.

When the Nuclear Power Plant first has it's meltdown, the turret that had the meltdown will no longer work and will need to be replaced. There will be a mass of injuries within the Power Plant, so a good health service is needed. The lasting radiation will also make the population which enter the effected area unwell. Building within the radiation area will become abandoned, in the highest radiation pollution once the buildings are bulldozed they will not be rebuilt. In the medium areas the buildings will be rebuilt but they are likely to become abandoned straight away due to the radiation. Buildings in the low areas will not necessarily become abandoned but it is a possibility, the population living there also still have a chance of becoming ill from the radiation.

Information given by sources have set the time for radiation to dissipate at around 20 years and on-wards. The radiation still takes time after to slowly decrease, the radiation pollution will become ground pollution, this can then be lowered by trees, therefore it is a good idea to put trees in areas with radiation pollution to speed up the process.

The Nuclear Power Plant will still produce power after the meltdown as long as it has turrets remaining which still work.
