Cities specialized in Mining extract [[ore]] and [[coal]] for profit. [[#Coal Mine|Coal]] and [[#Ore Mine|ore]] mines must be constructed directly above the mineral deposits. Extracted ore and coal can be exported on to the [[Global Market]] for immediate profit. Coal can be used to [[power]] a [[Coal Power Plant]]. A [[#Smelting Factory|Smelting Factory]] can be constructed to process ore and coal into [[metal]] and [[alloy]], more valuable resources.

*Be sure to inspect the [[cities]]' resource deposits stats and resource data maps to find where the coal and ore deposits are before you claim your city and [[zones|zone]] your districts.
As the player advance his or her Mining business, the player can dig up larger quantities of coal and ore.
*More money can be made if the player builds a [[#Smelting Factory|smelting factory]] to convert the minerals into metal and alloy.
