DLC or downloadable content is additional content for SimCity that can be purchased directly from Origin.

Some DLCs are free, others you have to buy. The remainder were limited-time special promotional DLCs that ranged in cost from free (Progressive Insurance Set) to paid (Red Cross Set); certain "free" DLCs you got by buying as a bundle, preordering, redeeming codes on specially branded products (Amusement Park Set), or by otherwise following certain steps. Limited-time paid ones you simply purchased off Origin. Some special promotion DLCs you had to follow steps to get were later integrated into the base game through updates, thereby becoming free to all players.<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/SimCity/comments/gazskt/simcity_all_dlcs/</ref>
