Wind
Wind affects not only the spread and concentration of air pollution but also the amount of power your wind power plants can generate.
Air pollution travels in the direction of wind flow. Wind data map shows the direction of wind flow with blue arrows.
- Air pollution is an important source of unhappiness for you Sims. Be sure to construct coal and oil power plants and level 1 tech industrial buildings at the edge of your city, in the direction of the blue arrows. Avoid placing your residential zones downwind from your industrial zones.
Your wind power plants will generate more power at higher wind speed. Wind speeds of a city is predetermined. Cities or parts of cities with higher elevation will generally experience higher wind speed.
